Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

Mizen’s publisher and data controller is Centre D’affaires du Parc (public developer name: CDP Software), CENTRAL PARC GH D9 ETG 1, Mohammedia, Province de Mohammedia, Morocco (MA). Contact: contact@mizen.fit.

2. Information we process

• Account information: email, first name and phone number when requested in the account journey. Sign-in uses an emailed code; Mizen does not store a password.
• Your nutrition profile: questionnaire answers, goals, preferences, restrictions, declared allergies, height, weight and activity level. With your health consent, this can include pregnancy, breastfeeding or postpartum information you provide.
• Your food diary: foods, meals, quantities, photos you submit, descriptions and voice transcriptions. Dictation sends the audio to our server and OpenAI for transcription. Mizen does not retain it as an audio file.
• Optional activity synchronisation: with your permission, Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android provides the day’s step total and date to Mizen. This does not read GPS location or write data to those services. You can refuse or withdraw permission in your phone settings.
• Your creations and community activity: foods, recipes, shopping lists, searches, favourites, friend connections, messages, publications and reports you submit.
• Subscription status and technical purchase references used to verify access. Mizen does not receive your payment card number for app-store purchases.
• Technical information: app-generated device identifiers, session tokens, language, pseudonymised usage events, security logs and, if enabled, a push-notification token. Pseudonymised records can remain associated with your account.

Nutrition, health and lifestyle information is treated as sensitive data.

3. Why we process it

We use this information to calculate your goals, maintain your diary, personalise recipes and plans, recognise foods, provide requested community notifications and protect the service. We do not sell or rent your data, or use it for advertising. The website and app do not include advertising pixels or third-party audience analytics.

4. AI features and service providers

With your permission, OpenAI processes the content needed for the AI feature you use. Meal photos or descriptions can be sent for food recognition. Typed meals and dictation transcripts may be accompanied by names of up to 12 recent diary foods. Dictation also sends the audio recording.

Flash sends selected ingredients, allowed additions, settings and calorie range, recent Flash recipes and a diary reliability indicator. Recipe photo import sends the image, details and language. Recipe review sends its title, description, ingredient names and preparation steps.

The AI Coach sends your question, recent exchanges, what the Coach remembers about you, your goal, activity level, food preferences and restrictions, the meals in today’s diary (foods, amounts and nutrition values), and the nutrition targets, totals and reference values needed for the answer. Your name, email, age and weight are not added from your profile; information you type is transmitted. With your consent, so the Coach can remember you on all your devices, the conversation (at most the last 400 messages) and a few useful facts it remembers (at most 40: tastes, schedule, constraints) are kept in your account. You can view and delete them at any time from the Coach; they are included in your data export and deleted with your account. Technical usage, cost and diagnostic records are also kept, without the conversation content. Nothing is added to your diary without your confirmation.

Nutrition values are estimates based on food references, labels or information you provide. Review and correct suggestions before saving them. AI can be wrong. Mizen does not diagnose or replace a health professional.

Providers include Hostinger for hosting, Brevo for sign-in emails, OpenAI for AI features, and Expo, Apple or Google for notifications depending on the device. Stores and payment providers process purchases under their own policies. Their processing may occur outside the main hosting country. This policy does not promise that providers retain no data; contact us about their processing.

5. Sharing and notifications

Circle invitations, messages and individual recipe or day sharing send the information you choose to the recipient you select. You can revoke sharing permissions or block a person. Community posts and recipes submitted to the community may be visible to other members under your chosen display name, following review where applicable. Personal creations remain private unless you request sharing.

Notifications are off by default. When enabled, they only announce an event in Mizen, not calories, weight, meal details or health data. Turn them off in Me → Settings. Signing out also disables notifications for that device.

6. Retention, deletion and your rights

Account data is kept while your account exists. You can access, export and correct your data and delete your account from the app. Deletion removes your profile, diary, preferences and notification tokens, or anonymises elements required for service integrity. Some security logs, moderation records, payment obligations and backups may remain separately. They are not used to reactivate your account or send advertising.

For other requests, including provider-held data, email contact@mizen.fit. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Deleting a Mizen account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription; manage that subscription with the store.

7. Hosting and security

Main hosting is provided by Hostinger in France. This does not describe all third-party processing, including AI processing. Sessions use encrypted transport and can be revoked. Mobile devices communicate with a dedicated gateway, never directly with the database.

8. iPhone launch alerts

If you opt in, we store your email, form language, selected platform, consent date and consent version solely to notify you when Mizen launches on iPhone. Android is already available on Google Play. Earlier records may include an Android choice. Signing up does not create an app account or subscribe you to a newsletter. No nutrition data is requested.

Records are stored privately on our server, separately from app data, for no more than 90 days, with a daily expiry cleanup. Withdraw your consent or request deletion by emailing contact@mizen.fit. The form does not trigger an advertising campaign.

9. Anonymous website counts

The download page records daily UTC totals of clicks towards Google Play, the web app and the iPhone alert. Since 5 October 2026, public home, download, feature and guide pages also record daily page-view totals for an allowlisted path. These counters do not store emails, IP addresses, device identifiers, cookies, referrers, search text or link parameters. Page language is inferred from the path; no private app data is included.

Totals are kept for at most 90 days in normal operation and expired totals are purged daily. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control preferences disable counting. Links work without JavaScript or when counting is unavailable. Counts are not unique visitors, installations or purchases. Separate security logs follow the rules above.

10. Changes

This policy may evolve with the service. The date above identifies the update; important changes will be announced in the app.
